Electronic signature
E-signatures enable documents to be securely and legally signed. E-signatures are based on the use of public-key cryptography, in which a personal private key and a public key are used. The public key is made available to others by the person or organization signing the document and is used to verify the authenticity of the digital signature. Anyone in possession of the public key can verify that the signature really is that of the person specified and that the document has not been altered since it was signed. Your private key is used to create a unique digital signature that links the document to your identity and thus confirms that you consent to its contents. This signature is unmistakable and also protects the document against unauthorized changes.
E-signatures enable documents to be signed at any location, increase the efficiency of work processes, and reduce costs. E-signatures are legally recognized in Germany and the EU. Depending on the type of signature, e-signatures can also legally replace handwritten signatures, which offers a high level of security and trust.
