Interim lectureship contracts for professors emeriti
Professors emeriti of the University may be offered interim lectureship contracts to alleviate teaching staff shortages; there is no age limit.
- This measure is to be financed through vacant posts not proposed for job cuts (Senate decision of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, dated 3 September 1996).
- The maximum interim lectureship period is 3 years.
- Monthly remuneration currently amounts to €1,235.28 Euro plus employer social security contribution. This amount protects eligible professors emeriti from cuts in pension emoluments.
- The teaching obligation—defined as minimum teaching obligation—is 4 hours when combined with limited tasks in research and self-government.
In agreement between professor and faculty, requests for interim lectureships must be submitted to the University Administration.
