Erasmus+ for University staff
Through the following Erasmus+ programs, Universität Hamburg employees have the opportunity to plan a stay abroad and apply for financial support.
Erasmus+ mobility for teaching purposes
The Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignment (STA) program allows teaching staff at Universität Hamburg to apply for funding to conduct a short-term lectureship at an Erasmus+ partner university. The goal of the Erasmus short-term lectureship is the internationalization of studies and teaching at Universität Hamburg and the respective European host university as well as the strengthening of interinstitutional partnerships and networks.
A minimum of 8 teaching hours must be completed per stay or commenced week. If teaching and training activities are combined, the teaching load is reduced to 4 hours per week. The minimum duration of an Erasmus+ short-term lectureship is 2 days.

Erasmus+ mobility for professional development and continuing education

Goals include international networking, professional exchange with colleagues at other European universities, the strengthening of intercultural skills, and the honing of foreign-language skills.

The following types of mobility are possible:
Job shadowing
Job shadowing involves a self-organized stay to familiarize yourself with your work area at a partner university. For example, a visit to an administrative division, faculty, library system, or computing center. See here for reports on past work visits.
Staff Training Weeks
A Staff Training Week (STW) takes place at universities involved in the Erasmus+ program. While some STWs address a particular topic and are aimed at a specific target group (e.g., librarians, IT staff), others cover a very broad range of topics and present the different areas of the university. An STW has the advantage of being an organized program: the university has prepared for visitors during this time and it is easy to establish further contacts. An STW is moreover a wonderful opportunity to meet colleagues from countless other universities—enabling a fantastic exchange of ideas and excellent networking opportunities. Organized STWs usually last 3–5 days; the working language is normally English.
