Telework as a special type of remote work
What does telework mean?
- Telework is a type of remote work that consists of working at a fixed, private location such as your home (if required, with equipment supplied by the University).
- Telework is possible only if you have an individual, personal need for a binding long-term agreement (e.g., to care for children or relatives). The goal is a binding and reliable schedule.
- Need must be established concretely and proof must be provided.
- See the FAQ on remote work at Universität Hamburg.
Do I have to submit a request for telework?
- Yes. Complete the telework request (PDF, accessible for disabled individuals), and discuss your wishes with your supervisor. Once granted by your supervisor, the request then goes to HR for review and authorization.
- Observe the workplace requirements for telework and Universität Hamburg data protection regulations.
- Send your request and required proof alongside the telework agreement (PDF, accessible for disabled individuals) for review to mobilarbeiten"AT"uni-hamburg.de.
